Message From the Chairman

Dear Colleagues and Stakeholders,
It is a profound honour to address you as the newly appointed chairman of the Auditing Standards Board of Nepal. I express my sincere gratitude to everyone for the trust and confidence placed in me. I assume this role with a deep sense of responsibility and clear commitment to building upon the strong foundation of trust, integrity and excellence that defines the accounting and auditing profession.
The global financial landscape is undergoing rapid transformation. Driven by technological advancements, emerging regulatory shifts and an elevated focus on corporate governance, the auditing practices must continuously adapt. As the chairman of the Auditing Standards Board, I am committed to monitoring these global trends and incorporating the elements best suited for the financial landscape of Nepal, while aligning with global standards of auditing and assurance.
My priority will be to ensure that the Auditing Standards Board remains proactive, agile and forward-thinking. We will focus on enhancing financial transparency, strengthening public trust and ensuring our auditing standards effectively address emerging risks, technological advancements and evolving market dynamics in Nepal.
We will remain deeply committed to the timely development, update and revision of our auditing and assurance standards, aligning with the international auditing and assurance standards issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB). These standards serve as the bedrock of financial integrity, fostering public trust and enhancing the credibility of financial reporting.
We are also committed to enhancing auditors' capabilities by equipping them with the tools, knowledge and resources needed to perform their duties effectively and ethically.
We look forward to partnering with government agencies, regulators and international bodies while working closely with practitioners, the broader business community and the public at large. We believe our collective effort will contribute to continue building an environment where auditing will strengthen transparency, accountability and reliability of financial information and reporting for institutions in Nepal, thereby fostering the best use of financial resources for the economic prosperity of institutions, the government and the citizens of the country.
I am confident that, together, we will elevate the accounting and auditing profession in Nepal and uphold the highest standards of integrity, excellence and professional conduct.
Thank you for your support and your dedication as we embark on this journey.
Warm Regards,
FCA Madhu Bir Pande
